The second of Giovanni’s eight children, Angelo was born in 1885. It was he, along with the first born, Gentile, who took on the onerous task of continuing in the founder’s footsteps, although when his father died he was just eighteen years of age. He had a completely different character to his brother Gentile, but together they formed the winning duo at the head of the Lanfranchi Company. He thought up the ideas, while Gentile accomplished them. As his younger brothers began to grow up, he insisted that all the most important decisions were made unanimously. This managerial style might have led to a paralysis, but the results show that it was a successful method for the Lanfranchi Company, not least due to Angelo considerable gifts as an organizer and strategist.
